June 19, 2021 Miriam, a 31-year-old Italian who was hit last Monday in Paris by two girls in an electric scooter while walking, died today: the two fled without even helping her and are wanted.

Miriam, a Tuscan from Capalbio, had been hospitalized on a reserved prognosis.

Her condition, reports the daily Le Parisien, was very serious, and she had been declared in a state of "brain death".

The incident occurred at one in the morning. The girl, a waitress in an Italian restaurant in Paris, was walking with a friend on the banks of the Seine closed to traffic, at the Ile-de-la-Cité, when she was hit by the scooter that - according to people close to the victim - "was going at full speed". Miriam fell to the ground and hit her head against the sidewalk as the two scooters ran away.

It was rescued by divers from the river brigade who guarded the river in that area. They attempted to resuscitate the woman and called for help, but Miriam was in cardiac arrest. After 30 minutes of massage, her heart started again, but the doctors of the hospital where she had been transported, the Pitié-Salpetrière, showed up immediately " very pessimistic ".

The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into manslaughter aggravated by escape and wrongful death. The police have launched an appeal to find the two girls guilty of the investment. A poster with the appeal has been posted along the banks of the Seine, anyone who can provide news is invited to do so, but video surveillance images are also being used.

The drama takes place in the midst of the controversy over the danger of electric scooters, which have been given complete freedom of movement in Paris, without being able to enforce any rules. David Belliard, deputy mayor ecological and one of the most active in the transformation of circulation in Paris in favor of bicycles and scooters, said that the "safety of the most vulnerable" that are pedestrians is among his "priorities" and asks that it be done " full light "on the incident. Miriam worked in a small restaurant in the Latin Quarter. The family has given the green light to donate organs, according to Miriam's wishes.
