19 June 2021 Vaccination effect on the identikit of the newly infected with Sars-CoV-2. "Most of the new reported cases of infection are in unvaccinated individuals." And "the highest incidence is observed in subjects under 60, who have a lower vaccination coverage".

The Higher Institute of Health highlights this in the latest bulletin on the Covid-19 epidemic in Italy.

"Most of the cases reported in Italy - reads the updated report on June 16 - were identified in unvaccinated subjects (who have never received a dose of Sars-CoV-2 vaccine or who have been vaccinated with first or single-dose within 14 days of the diagnosis itself, ie before the time necessary to develop a complete immune response to the vaccine) ".

Again, the ISS points out, if "until the beginning of February 2021 the incidence was higher in the age group greater than or equal to 80 years, starting from the second half of February, with the progressive increase in vaccination coverage in subjects over eighty, the decrease was more marked in this age group than in the others ". The decline has gradually affected the other immunized age groups and thus, "currently, the highest incidence is observed in subjects under the age of 60, who have less vaccination coverage".

"Most of the cases reported to the surveillance system in the last 2 weeks - reports the ISS - are between 19 and 50 years old. 27.9% of cases are over 50 years old and less than 21.9% of cases were 19 years old (median age 37 years) ". Between men and women it is almost equal: "50.4% of cases are male".
