Although it was a tough start for most Sörmland farmers, most believe they can deliver a certain amount before midsummer.

- It was a tough start with long and cold nights, but since then we have had a fairly long period with both rain and sun.

It has kicked off properly, says Lars Hermelin, farmer at Mariebergs Säteri.

Greenhouse

To secure a certain amount of old men before midsummer, many have chosen to grow with the help of fibrous fabric or in greenhouses.

- It was a tough start but we have started to get some red strawberries now.

However, we have started selling strawberries on a small scale from our greenhouses, says Peter Johansson, farmer at Solby farm in Eskilstuna.

First come

Last year, between 3,000-5,000 liters were picked from the greenhouses in Tomtekulla in Tystberga the day before midsummer.

- We want to try to be able to guarantee strawberries by midsummer and therefore we have the greenhouse, says Fredrik Larsson, farmer.

In the video you can see farmer Steen Von Rosen talking about his strawberry cultivation and what it looks like before midsummer.
