“Over the past years, we have traditionally burned forests in the same regions of Siberia and the Far East: Primorsky, Trans-Baikal, Krasnoyarsk Territories, Irkutsk Region, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Republic of Buryatia,” TASS quoted her as saying.

Abramchenko noted that these regions accounted for more than half of the total forest area covered by forest fires.

"This year, positive dynamics is noted in the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Republic of Buryatia," added the Deputy Prime Minister.

Abramchenko said that in Transbaikalia, in comparison with last year's indicators, it was possible to reduce the number of fires by four times and their area by almost 40 times.

“For the first time in six years, the forest fire situation in Transbaikalia in the spring passed without the introduction of an emergency regime ... In the Republic of Buryatia, the efficiency of extinguishing is one of the highest - 97% - this is a very good indicator, all regions should strive for this,” she said.
