Ever since school, and especially during the years when I studied at a university in England - where drug use is far from as stigmatized as in Sweden - I have been aware that those who take different drugs can be both young and old, come from different strata in society, and that many do it to "have fun" - while having an orderly existence.

Some do it to relieve pain in the final stages of life, and for some it can lead to serious illness, and that life ends.

In a unique collaboration with Upsala Nya Tidning, we want to broaden the perspective of Uppsala's drug trade.

We have chosen to focus on the popular online drug 3-CMC, also called crystal, which has gained an increasingly strong foothold in Uppsala.

And instead of highlighting the serious criminals, who are the ones who make money from the drug trade, we focus on those who buy the drug.

We have mapped out who the buyers are, and met several people who talk about their drug use.

Two 17-year-olds show us how easy it is today to buy drugs via Snapchat, and both the police and tell us about the challenge of stopping the sellers.

Customs shows how the online drug enters the country, and the chief physician explains what happens, both physically and mentally, to the addict.

This is a review that is about the illegal online drug crystal, how easy it is to get hold of in the digital age we live in, and about some of the Uppsala residents who use it.
