In order for more children and young people to have the opportunity to try out different sports and stay busy during the summer holidays, the state and the municipality have arranged the Uppsala summer zone.
- With the pandemic and the fact that many homesteaders, we make sure to offer what we can so that you can move around and have fun, says Maria Patel (S), chairman of the sports and leisure committee.

Two of the young people who have been involved in developing the name Uppsala summer zone are Buruk Mebrahtom and Aysha Mussa.
- It will be fun, when you have nothing to do you can hang out here, says Aysha Mussa.
- I long to hang out here, adds Buruk Mebrahtom.
