“We still need dialogue with Russia,” Merkel said in a message posted on her Instagram.
She noted that Russia and Germany have economic, historical and intersocial ties.
The Chancellor also recalled the international cooperation of the countries.
Earlier, a group of deputies from the "Alternative for Germany" (AfD) faction made a proposal to "restart" relations between Moscow and Berlin.
