A man missing in the bathing lake in Mainflingen (Offenbach district) was found dead on Saturday. A swimming accident is assumed, said a police spokesman in Offenbach. The man came from the region and, contrary to what was initially stated, was not 61, but 59 years old. The police and fire brigade had been looking for the missing person since Saturday morning. His bicycle and clothes had been found on the bank. The police assumed that he was swimming in the lake on Friday evening and had a swimming accident. Five people between the ages of 16 and 18 were injured in a car accident near Rimbach (Bergstrasse district) on Saturday morning. The 18-year-old driver had strayed to the right of the road on the federal highway 38 at a railway facility, probably due to excessive speed, said the police in Lampertheim. There the car collided with the guardrail and parts of the railway system. Several trucks collided on the A66 near Schlüchtern (Main-Kinzig district), injuring three people. On Friday afternoon, a man drove his truck onto a truck with a shut-off trailer from the motorway maintenance depot in the right lane, the police said. Subsequently, a small truck driving behind the truck could no longer brake and crashed into the vehicles. The 33-year-old driver of the pickup truck was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
