The Supreme Administrative Court rules that it is the calendar month that falls three months before the calendar month in which the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth decides on approval of support that shall form the basis for the support.

However, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth assesses that “relatively few” companies are affected by the changed practice.

The absolute majority of companies have the same number of employees who are eligible regardless of whether the comparison month now changes, the authority writes in a press release.

In March, SVT's Assignment review revealed serious errors in the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth's handling of short-term support. How companies that were entitled to the support have become without and how those who were not entitled may have received money anyway.
