In the 17th century, Mälsåker's castle began to be built on the island of Selaön in what is now Strängnäs municipality.

In 1945 it burned in large parts and in the 1990s an extensive renovation began.

Then, among other things, a new wooden floor was laid that looks the same as it did before the fire.

Namely, there were good photographs which showed what it looked like before the fire.

But years of parties and other events in the castle have left their mark on the large wooden floor.

- It has never been really cleaned, says Eva Hultén.

Because of this, the association decided to organize a workshop to learn - and also soap scrub the floor.

By hand.

In the clip, you can see how it went at the castle on Thursday and hear Eva Hultén talk about why it simply does not use a scrubbing machine instead of scrubbing by hand.
