According to the newspaper, the National Security Council of the country had previously instructed to organize the study of military assistance to Ukraine.

This happened against the background of the movement of the Russian Armed Forces within the country, including near the Ukrainian border.

However, later, officials from the National Security Council "postponed this proposal", this happened on the eve of the summit of US and Russian Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin in Geneva, the newspaper reports.

As US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said earlier, the United States is exploring the possibility of increasing security assistance to the Ukrainian side.

On June 11, the Pentagon announced a new $ 150 million aid package to Ukraine.
