The precaution is due to the “cramped nature” of the streets of the city center of the Pink City.

This Saturday and the following ones, Toulouse residents will have to continue to wear the mask outside if they are shopping or strolling.

This exception to the deep breath of the new stage of deconfinement was decided by Etienne Guyot, the prefect of Haute-Garonne, "after consultation with the mayor of Toulouse".

It therefore applies every Saturday, from 10 a.m. to midnight, and until further notice, within a perimeter delimited by the boulevards and the Garonne.

As a reminder, in a more general way, there are other places and situations where one cannot yet free oneself from the mask: the queues, the multitude of major events, the markets or the surroundings of educational institutions.

In Haute-Garonne, the incidence rate of Covid-19 is now 37 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, below the alert threshold set at 50.
