Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between a real person and a fake, since they both have similar characteristics.

However, a real person only shows their true traits.

Unlike real people, who live life as it is and make decisions according to their beliefs and limits, fake people imitate human characteristics and emotions.

Learning how to distinguish between real and fake individuals takes some life lessons, and unfortunately one has to form a lot of relationships with fake people to understand how they treat the people around them.

Fake people suffer from a personality disorder, in which they remain true to the image they have created.

How do you distinguish between fake and real?

Writer Sherry Heard reviewed a list of the most prominent ways that you can follow to distinguish between a real person and a fake, in a report published by the American "learning-mind" website.

Here are the main differences between these two types of people:

1. Attention seeking/conviction

Fake people never get enough attention, because they don't love themselves unless others love them first.

While real people are satisfied with who they are, they don't need more attention to prove their good qualities.

For example, fake people may have a large number of friends, while real people have only a few reliable people in their lives, because real people do not need numbers, they only need a few committed loved ones.

2. No respect/too much respect

Real people respect other people, and if they realize that someone doesn't like something, they'll make sure it doesn't happen again.

Fakes don't respect borders at all.

In other words, if you tell a fake person that they offended you, they will refuse to admit what they did, and will often try to deny that they have offended you, and they will not respect other fake people.

In return, real people will respect others and will do their best to make you feel comfortable in their presence.

3. Liars/truths

Many fake people do all kinds of deception for reasons that are sometimes not clear, and you may think that they will feel guilty after telling so many lies.

On the other hand, most of them do not feel that, since they are in the habit of lying.

You can recognize this type of person at first sight when they avoid looking you in the eye when talking to you.

On the other hand, a real person will be honest even at the cost of hurting your feelings.

These people are considered honest not because they are afraid of lying or about to lie, but because they cannot bear the burden, and feel very bad when they lie.

4. ostentatious/modest

Real people are as humble, or try to be, as possible, and even when they feel as though they're bragging too much about their accomplishments, they hold back and say, "Sorry, I'm bragging I guess."

In contrast, fake people brag all the time, saying things like, “Look at the new car you bought,” and then the next day they say, “Look how I clean the house.”

5. They imitate/follow their own path

Fake people live by imitating the things others do, even imitating beliefs and standards, even if their lifestyles are unhealthy.

On the other hand, real people chart their own paths in life, looking deep down to understand and appreciate their own talents, preferences, and dislikes that have nothing to do with anyone else, which is an amazingly different behavior.

6. False feelings/real emotions

Being with a fake person can be scary, as they can cry if they lose a close family member, but these tears are nothing more than just crocodile tears.

They can also display happiness well because it means they got something they wanted, and they can vent their anger.

And when they do, they become like children, often using intimidation to get what they want.

And as bad as they feel about the mistakes they make, they can't help crying or feeling remorse like normal people.

In contrast, real people live themselves, they cry, laugh, love, are empathetic and are not afraid to show their feelings.

When they get angry, their anger is real and not fake, and when the real person cries, it means that he is already in pain.

How do you deal with fake people?

Although we don't want to, sometimes we have to deal with fake people, especially in the workplace.

When we are dealing with this type of person, it is best to give them limited information about ourselves, and keep as much distance between us as possible.

Although we want to help them become real people, sometimes that is impossible.

Unfortunately, fake people live this way their whole lives, and it is up to them to change.
