On the anniversary of the departure of the former Egyptian President, Dr. Mohamed Morsi, the artist Amr Waked published a video in which he spoke about the injustice and suffering that the former president suffered during his imprisonment.

He explained, "I came down against Mohamed Morsi to demand the overthrow of a regime, and to contribute to removing him from his position as President of the Republic, and not in order for him to be subjected to injustice and to be placed in a glass cage that could not defend himself before the judge, and even after he obtained an innocence, he remained in prison until he died of Without rights or care, and this does not satisfy anyone, no matter how much you are an opponent, or if there is anger or a price to be paid, but no account can be paid in this way.”

Apology to Rabaa Victims

And Amr Waked, weeks before that, on his Twitter page, was keen to offer an apology to the victims of the Rab’a sit-in dispersal, and he said in a tweet to him, “I deeply apologize to all the innocent victims of Rabaa and Al-Nahda for my words, and this is the second apology I make in the same video, after a video apology before that.” On a program and they deleted my apology from it, I was stupid and believed their words that the violence was caused by the fire on the army today, and I am aware of the lies of the regime. I say that I made it easy for the most sincere criminals.

This was in reference to his statements during a television interview he gave in which he justified the massacre that took place in Rab’a, which killed nearly a thousand people.

I sincerely apologize to all the innocent victims of Rabaa and Al-Nahda for my words.

This is the second apology that I made in the same video after a video apology before that in a program and they deleted my apology from it.

I was dumb and believed their words that the violence was caused by the shooting at the army.

Today, when I am aware of the lies of the regime, I say that I found it easy to believe criminals.
