Yuko Kawamoto, a professor at Waseda University Graduate School, will be appointed as the new president of the National Personnel Authority.

The Governor of the National Personnel Authority will be a woman for two consecutive generations.

Since the term of office of President Nahomi Ichimiya of the National Personnel Authority will expire next week, the government decided at a cabinet meeting on the 18th to appoint Yuko Kawamoto, a professor at Waseda University Graduate School, as a successor.



The president of the National Personnel Authority was to be appointed by the Cabinet from among the three personnel officers, and Mr. Kawamoto was to be appointed as a new personnel officer after President Ichinomiya retired.



Mr. Kawamoto is 63 years old from Tokyo.



After working for a bank and a consulting company, he became a professor at Waseda University Graduate School, and during this time he was a member of the National Public Safety Commission and a member of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy.



Mr. Kawamoto is scheduled to take office on the 23rd of this month, and the president of the National Personnel Authority will be a woman for two consecutive generations.
