"Since 2016, the State Duma has received more than a million applications from our citizens - this is 2.5 times more than in the previous period," RIA Novosti quotes him.
The Speaker of the State Duma noted that this indicates that appeals are being considered, the efficiency of the deputies is increasing and the demand for such a dialogue is growing.
He also said that this is an indicator of the responsible attitude of the deputies to interaction with voters.
Volodin recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly noted the importance of communicating with people and the need for MPs to meet with residents more often.
Earlier, the State Duma adopted a law on budgetary support for the regions.
