The safety representatives at the university have criticized the decision.

One of the reasons is that there are teachers who will not have time to receive two doses of covid vaccine this autumn.

- If we have such teachers, we must find a way of working around it, says Therese Iveby Gardell.

The safety representatives also believe that there are few higher education institutions that do as Linnaeus University does and start on site right at the start of the semester.

Why not wait like other universities do?

- For the students to be able to prepare.

It is very different and there is a lot that goes over to campus.

But there are some who very early announced that they will start at a distance and then they are locked into it despite the minister's announcement at the end of May, says Therese Iveby Gardell.

But at the same time she does not rule out that it may be relevant to continue at a distance even during the autumn if the infection situation requires.

- Closing down is faster than opening up.

We did that in principle 24 hours in March 2020 so we can do it again, says Therese Iveby Gardell.
