On June 17, in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, the concrete pouring of the tower column of the east cable tower of the Lingdingyang Bridge in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Deep-Medium Corridor Project was completed, marking the completion of the topping of the first main tower of the world’s largest-span steel box girder suspension bridge in the sea Lingdingyang Bridge was officially converted from substructure construction to superstructure construction.

  The deep-medium channel is a super sea-crossing cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater intercommunication", with a total length of 24 kilometers. Among them, the Lingdingyang Bridge is the key control project of the project, with a main span of 1,666 meters, which is the largest in the world A steel box girder suspension bridge spanning the sea.

  At present, the Lingdingyang Bridge in the Shenzhong Passage is continuing to promote the construction of the west pylon main tower and the construction of the east-west anchorage. The main tower of the Zhongshan Bridge has been built to an elevation of 180 meters, and the topping is planned to be completed within this year.

In terms of the island tunnel project, the construction of the east and west artificial islands has been carried out in an orderly manner. A total of 9 immersed tube tunnels have been installed and connected.

  After the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor is opened to traffic in 2024, the travel distance between the cities in the Pearl River Delta will be shortened, and the distance between Zhongshan and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport will be shortened from 2 hours to 20 minutes.
