He believes that the new variant will spread to the rest of Blekinge in the near future.

- I hope I am wrong, but it is likely that it will spread to the rest of the county, he says.

A vaccine dose provides poorer protection than other variants

According to Bengt Wittesjö, those who are fully vaccinated should not be worried about the delta variant.

However, those who have only taken one dose should be more vigilant.

- The vaccination works well against the delta variant.

The difference is that a dose provides slightly worse protection against this variant than the previous ones.
