The man, who is in his 50s, became threatening and aimed a weapon at two social workers who visited the family at lunchtime on Wednesday.

He fired a shot with a revolver ladder that he modified so that it was possible to shoot with it, prosecutor Lo Jonsson says.

- He says himself that he fired the shot in order to scare and not to injure, she says.

Lacks protection

How did the social secretaries react to this incident?

- Interrogations were held with them, but I have not received any report on how they feel today, but it is clear that they are properly shaken.

- You are warned about what vulnerable work they have.

What they risk just to do their job, says Lo Jonsson.

Although there are many professions that risk being exposed in this way, there are also differences, she points out.

- It is just as bad with threats against the police, but they have weapons and training in how to handle dangerous situations, but what do social secretaries have for training and tools to protect themselves?

she asks rhetorically.

Severe crimes

The man was arrested on suspicion of a serious weapon crime, partly because he did not have a license for the weapon and partly because he used it "in a criminal environment". He is also suspected of making a serious threat to officials. The minimum penalty for a serious weapon crime is two years and for a serious threat to an official one year.
