• Moratalaz The crime of hammering: jealousy and an unrepentant macho murderer

The judge has ordered the entry into prison for the octogenarian

accused of killing his wife by beating her with a hammer

in the Madrid neighborhood of Moratalaz last Tuesday, as legal sources have informed Efe.

In his statement before the head of the Court of Violence against Women number 10 of Madrid, the defendant

has acknowledged the facts before the judge

, who has issued provisional detention communicated and without bail.

The 84-year-old man is accused of a crime of murder and will be transferred to the Soto del Real prison, the same sources have added.

The attack took place around eight o'clock in the afternoon last Tuesday at his home located at number 1 Montpellier street and it

was the couple's neighbors who notified the National Police when they heard the screams of the

81-year-old woman, calling for help from the window of his house.

When the agents arrived at the scene, it was the husband himself who opened the door of the home for them.

"Come in, I've killed her, take me away,"

said the man very calmly to the police, according to sources from the investigation.

However, the woman was still conscious and was treated by the Summa 112 staff for a severe head injury.

After being intubated, she was transferred with a serious prognosis to Hospital 12 de Octubre, where she died hours later from the wounds suffered, as she had lost a lot of blood.

The man repeatedly attacked the woman with a hammer to the head and the tool was analyzed by investigators.

The investigations indicate that

the man suffered "pathological jealousy" and thought that his wife was seeing other individuals

.

There was no record of sexist violence or previous complaints.

In recent times, the couple's neighbors had heard arguments between the two.

The Delegation against Gender Violence confirmed the sexist nature of the murdered, which
