Laurent Pietraszewski is head of the LREM list for the regional elections in Hauts-de-France.
He is supported in his campaign by four other ministers whose positions in government seem to him to be an advantage for the region.
The two strong points of its program concern youth and employment.
Laurent Pietraszewski is the leading candidate of the LREM list for the regional elections in Hauts-de-France. Thursday evening, in the program of BFM Grand Lille,
Lille Politiques
, in partnership with
20 Minutes
, the one who is Minister in charge of Pensions detailed a program which gives pride of place to young people.
Laurent Pietraszewski is supported in his campaign by government heavyweights, in particular Gérald Darmanin and Eric Dupond-Moretti.
Despite this poster of stars, the one who saw himself arriving first on the evening of June 20 is credited in the polls with only 11% of the vote.
Two small points that would barely allow him to hold on in the second round.
Still, he still sees an advantage: “The Hauts-de-France deserve the skills and commitment of these government colleagues.
Do you think I will transform the industry in our region on my own?
I need Agnès Pannier-Runacher for that, ”insists the LREM candidate.
"Paying for a bicycle, driving license or contraception" to young people
In his program, Laurent Pietraszewski decided to devote a large part of the region's budget to youth. In particular, it intends to set up a “super pass” of 1,000 euros which meets 5 essential needs of young people, namely mobility, culture, care. “It's not a thousand euro gift card to go to the supermarket. It's about paying for a bike, a driving license or contraception, ”he explains.
In addition to this measure, which targets 80,000 18-year-olds, the head of the LREM list is also putting a lot of money on the table for education. It proposes, among other things, the construction of 5 new chance high schools for “dropout” students. “I sanctuarized 250 million euros over the entire mandate for youth. Without increasing taxes but by redirecting credits, ”promises Laurent Pietraszewski. Those of Proch'Emploi for example, a device which, according to the candidate, is useless.
On employment precisely, the head of the LREM list first suggests letting Pôle Emploi do its support work.
This does not prevent him from proposing the establishment of a regional investment bank with 50 million euros which would create 50,000 jobs.
“There is a multi-year energy program which provides for an increase of 2.1% of French GDP by 2028, he recalls.
The idea is to seek for Hauts-de-France more than 10% of the 440,000 jobs generated by this increase ”.
Competition in the TER "benefits users"
Like his opponent Xavier Betrand, Laurent Pietraszewski is in favor of opening up TER lines to competition. They are the only ones besides. "For transport, there is no debate, it benefits users in terms of quality and safety," he says. For him, it would also be a pledge to see investments made in infrastructure and rolling stock. "The question of the price, it can be interesting", eludes the candidate.
On the issue of wind turbines, the candidate minister is walking on eggshells.
"I do not want onshore wind power or even offshore wind power without consultation," he insists.
A position that is not shared by the Minister for Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompili, in particular with regard to the establishment of an offshore park off Dunkirk.
At the request of a group of local elected officials who demanded a local referendum, she replied: "We are not going to start asking for a referendum every time we have a project that is in the process of being completed".
