Yesterday evening, Thursday, Israeli warplanes launched a series of raids on two sites of the Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip, while an Israeli channel reported that Tel Aviv had sent a threatening message to Hamas if the incendiary balloons continued to be launched towards Israel.

Al-Jazeera correspondent in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation aircraft launched a series of raids tonight on a number of Palestinian resistance sites in different parts of the Gaza Strip.

The reporter added that the raids caused material damage to the targeted sites, 3 of which belong to the Al-Qassam Brigades, without any casualties reported so far.

The Israeli army said that the raids came in response to the continued launching of incendiary balloons from Gaza towards Israel, stressing that the Chief of Staff instructed to raise the army’s readiness in preparation for scenarios, including the resumption of fighting in Gaza.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the bombing is a show of the new Israeli government, and that the resistance is the one who determines the rules and nature of the battle, according to the movement's statement.

Israeli sources stated that 8 fires broke out in the towns around the Gaza Strip since Thursday morning. Those sources said that the fires broke out in the Shaer Hanegev and Eshkol areas, and were caused by incendiary balloons being launched from the Gaza Strip, and held Hamas responsible for their launch.

The launching of incendiary balloons has sparked dozens of fires in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip since last Tuesday, in response to the march of flags organized by settlers in the streets of Jerusalem.

Threat of a new military operation

The Israeli government threatened Hamas to launch a new military campaign against the Gaza Strip if the launching of incendiary balloons from the Strip towards Israeli areas did not stop.

The private Israeli Channel 13 reported that the Israeli delegation currently in Cairo sent a message to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) through Egyptian intelligence, stating that if the launching of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip towards its territory does not stop, there will be a "guard of fences-2", in reference to The recent Israeli military operation in Gaza, which Israel called "the guard of the fences", while the resistance called it "the sword of Jerusalem."

The channel indicated that Egypt is making efforts to prevent the collapse of the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian factions in Gaza.

A delegation from the Israeli National Security Council arrived in Egypt on Thursday, where it will hold talks in Cairo on a long-term truce with Hamas in Gaza.

Israel launched an 11-day aggression on the Gaza Strip between May 10 and 21.
