Laschet stressed that Germany needs gas for the transition to green energy.
“We will be able to successfully complete the energy transition only if we purchase gas for the transition period,” he said.
He also noted that he sees the need to guarantee the stability of Ukraine and respect its decision "to focus on Europe and transatlantic partners."
