Andalusia is no longer a
Susanist
fiefdom
and the federal leadership of the PSOE wants it to be clear.
For this reason, Ferraz has organized for this Sunday an act that aims to visualize the new
status quo
in the largest socialist federation in the country, the one with the most weight and the one with the most militants and which, until now, resisted the control of Pedro's team. Sanchez.
The
leadership
of the PSOE will embrace Juan Espadas, who has managed to bury the leadership of Susana Díaz, who seemed armored, in a primaries in which he obtained more than 55% of the votes of the militants, a result that not even the most optimistic among those who support the mayor of Seville.
The axis of the act will be
municipalism
, precisely the basis on which Espadas articulated his campaign of the primaries, in which he has vindicated the role of the city councils, denouncing the neglect they have suffered by the previous directions of the Andalusian PSOE.
This act is part of the preparations for the
40th Congress
of the PSOE, to be held in October in Valencia.
But beyond the official reason, the stage that is going to be set up in a hotel in Seville is intended to consecrate the victory of Espadas and, above all, the defeat of Díaz, which, incidentally, Ferraz wants to
press
a little more so that it desists of any temptation to prolong its total withdrawal and also yields the General Secretariat of the PSOE-A, which in theory could keep until the congress to be held at the end of the year.
The
number three
of the party, the Organization secretary, José Luis Ábalos, will preside over the event designed from Ferraz and which is expected to also be attended by the spokesperson in the Madrid Assembly, Hana Jalloul, and the MEP Lina Gálvez, as coordinators of the federal congress presentations.
During the primary campaign, Ferraz made an effort to appear
neutral
despite the fact that Espadas was pointed out directly from the PSOE headquarters as the alternative to Díaz.
In fact, in the events organized by the Espadas team, the presence of ministers or party leaders was avoided, who were present on the night in which the victory of the mayor of Seville was known.
Now, there are no longer reasons to stay on the sidelines and they want to stage the
total support
of the socialist federal leadership who is called not only to be the PSOE candidate for the next Andalusian elections, but also the future general secretary of the party in Andalusia in a matter of months.
Meanwhile, Espadas and Díaz have yet to face each other to analyze the
future
of the former president and agree on the changes that the winner of the primaries wants to make at the institutional level, mainly in the socialist parliamentary group.
The will of Espadas and his team is that the
relays
both in the spokesperson and in the presidency of the group - now held by José Fiscal and Susana Díaz herself - be immediate, although they must be formally decided by the executive.
What would already be agreed is that the
question
to the president of the Board, Juanma Moreno, next week is made by a member of parliament related to Espadas, most likely who is called to be the new spokesperson, Ángeles Ferriz, from Jaén.
No light or stenographers
The meeting between the former president and the Sevillian mayor could be held today or, at the latest, tomorrow, Saturday.
The two teams are closing that meeting, which will take place without light or stenographers, with the utmost
discretion
and without announcing the date, time or place.
Only at the end of the meeting will the media be informed.
The fate of the still general secretariat is one of the biggest unknowns to be addressed and, presumably, it will also be the subject of the conversation between Espadas and Díaz, to which they want to offer a
dignified exit
and convince her to leave her organic position, a Once Ferraz has already ruled out that he is going to force his exit.
The Senate looks like a probable retirement.
