Ågestaverket was Sweden's first commercial nuclear power plant and in operation 1964-1974.

The project to clean the area in and around Ågestaverket started in the summer of 2020 and is expected to be completed in 2025.

- In total, we will pick out 2,000 tonnes from here and we have four years to do so, says Nils Bergstand.

After dismantling and decontamination, Vattenfall will leave the site to the City of Stockholm.

The site has in recent decades been used as a training area for the rescue service.
