U.S. National Security Adviser Sullivan

said

that President Biden is considering a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

It was the day after returning from the Geneva meeting with Russian President Putin that he announced plans for the US-China summit.

Although it has not been decided when and how the meeting will be held, it has left open the possibility of a meeting through a phone call or an international summit.

Since President Biden and President Xi had a phone call in February, the possibility of direct contact is being weighed on this time.

If a separate meeting schedule is not scheduled, there is a high possibility that the US-China summit will take place at the G20 summit in Italy, where the two leaders are expected to meet in October.

Earlier, during his European tour, President Biden brought up issues that China is sensitive to, such as Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Taiwan, and focused on building a common front with China.

As it has a summit with Russia, one of the two major threats to the United States, it is interpreted as a will to make a breakthrough for resolving the current issue of the US-China conflict through direct contact with China.
