June 17, 2021 The websites of major US airlines such as American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines went haywire. This was reported by Reuters, citing the monitoring website Downdetector.
According to the site, more than a thousand user reports have indicated problems with Southwest Airlines, over 400 for Delta Airlines and about 300 for the other two airlines.
The inconveniences encountered on the Web by major American airlines have had practical consequences. Southwest canceled nearly 300 flights and delayed more than 500 after being forced to temporarily halt operations due to a computer glitch.
Monitoring site Downdetector also reported haywire sites in Australia starting at 2pm local time. Difficulties have been reported in accessing the website of the Virgin Australia company and the web pages of some Australian banks.
