A 15-year-old Palestinian boy died of wounds he sustained yesterday, Wednesday, during clashes that erupted with the Israeli occupation forces in the vicinity of Jabal Sabih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

At the same time, the Israeli occupation forces severely beat another Palestinian boy in Jerusalem, before arresting him. They also wounded 4 Palestinians in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, and arrested two others.

Medical sources at Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus announced the death of Ahmed Zahi Bani Shamsa at dawn today, Thursday, and said that he had been martyred hours after entering the hospital and undergoing surgery due to a bullet wound to the head.

Bani Shamsa is the fourth martyr to rise within a month in continuous confrontations in the town of Beita, in refusal to build a new settlement outpost on Palestinian lands in the Jabal Sabih area south of the town.

Munir al-Jaghoub, a leader in the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and an activist in the defense of the Beta lands, confirmed in an online call to Al-Jazeera Net, the death of the boy, Bani Shamsa, after his health deteriorated, as the bullet lodged in the back of his head.

The medical staff inside Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus had performed a surgery on the boy, Bani Shamsa, in an attempt to save his life. His condition was described as “critical and unstable” after he was transferred to the intensive care unit, but he died despite these attempts.

Masses of Palestinians attended a mass funeral held this Thursday noon.

Injuries and arrests in the West Bank

In a related context, the Israeli occupation forces arrested this morning, Thursday, a Palestinian boy, after brutally assaulting him in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Four Palestinian youths were shot, while two others were arrested during the Israeli occupation forces' storming last night, the town of Kafrdan and the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, according to local sources.

The sources stated that the four young men from Jenin and its camp were shot during clashes that erupted with the occupation forces after they stormed the city, and they were taken to hospital for treatment.
