  Some households can only resume power supply on July 10

  According to reports, the power company that supplies power to the eastern and northeastern parts of Victoria confirmed that parts of Melbourne, the hardest-hit area, will not be able to restore power until July 10.

Currently, about 9,000 households and businesses in eastern Victoria are still experiencing power outages.

  In this regard, the power supply company apologized and said, “As we gradually advance the emergency repair work, the power in this area will gradually recover.”

  Victorian government guarantees room and board for families with power outages

  According to the official website of the Victorian government, Acting Governor Merino of Victoria and others announced on the 17th that they will provide more support to families suffering from power outages.

  Specifically, as of the 17th, eligible households that have not yet been powered on can receive a weekly “extended blackout subsidy” of A$1680 for up to 3 weeks.

It is estimated that the project can support about 7,000 households.

  In this regard, Merino said that the catastrophic storm has brought huge losses to the Victorian community, including his own area.

Merino also said that the government provides additional support because many people are struggling to survive.
