Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is forfeited in Game 5 against Utah Jazz in the NBA playoffs on Wednesday after injuring his right knee, the club said.

Leonard sprained himself in Game 4 of the Western Conference semi-final on Monday, won by the Clippers (118-104).

He will miss Game 5 on Wednesday in Salt Lake City.

According to US media, the two-time NBA champion, 29, could be out for the remainder of the series, best of seven games.

The Clippers said "no timetable" has yet been decided for his return.

Leonard's absence is a big blow to the Clippers.

Monday, the winger had registered 31 points, allowing his team to return to equality (2-2) after losing the first two games.

He had not finished the meeting.

Leonard was turning 30.4 points per game since the start of the play-offs.
