Yesterday, Wednesday, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that the judges responsible for the trial of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a request submitted by his defense lawyers, to postpone debates in corruption cases against him until after the "Jewish holidays" next September.

According to the Israeli Channel Seven,

Netanyahu's trial will continue as planned without delay, and indicated that by July 20, all materials related to Netanyahu's cases will be transferred to the defense.

The Israeli police began investigating Netanyahu in December 2016;

On suspicion of involvement in corruption cases.

At the time, the police recommended indicting him, which was considered a precedent in Israel, as no prime minister had ever been investigated during his tenure.

Netanyahu was formally charged on November 21, 2019 in 3 corruption cases known as Case 1000 "The Gift Case", Case 2000 "Netanyahu-Mozes Case", and Case 4000 "Bezeq-Wala Case".

The cases of Netanyahu - who remained prime minister for 12 years - revolve around his involvement in cases of bribery, breach of public trust, and abuse of power for personal matters.

The Israeli Central Court in East Jerusalem is considering the indictment against him, which may lead him to prison if he is convicted and the Israeli Supreme Court confirms this conviction.
