June 17, 2021An ICD, what is technically called an implantable cardiac defibrillator, for Christian Eriksen. The decision was made by the team of doctors and specialists who are treating the Inter and Danish national team midfielder, hospitalized at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen after last Saturday's cardiac arrest during the Euro 2020 match against Finland. "Christian has accepted the solution", reads the statement from the Danish Football Association.

The decision was made after several cardiac tests and is "necessary after the crisis due to rhythm disturbances," explains the medical bulletin.

Eriksen therefore accepted the solution, "moreover also confirmed by specialists at national and international level who have confirmed the need for treatment". The Danish Football Association concludes by inviting everyone to give "to Christian and his family privacy in the coming days".
