Balloons designed to create fires have been sent over Israel while the Israeli Air Force responds with attacks on the Gaza Strip.

According to Anders Persson, this should be seen as the first step on the two sides' escalation stairs.

- The ceasefire was broken in a clear way, at the same time it seems calm in Gaza and along the border with Israel this morning, he says.

"Hamas has much greater support than rival"

Why is it happening now?

- There is a political war on the side of the military escalation and both sides are trying to position themselves.

Hamas wants more aid and relief from the blockade in Gaza, and it has also advanced its positions internally in the Palestinian arena.

- There was an opinion poll yesterday that shows that Hamas has much, much higher support now than its rival, the Palestinian Authority.

It is the same in Israel.

The government there is three days old and needs to prove strong in this situation.

"Sees the march as a clear and distinct provocation"

Palestinians are also outraged by right-wing extremist demonstrations in Israel.

- Yesterday there was a so-called flag march in Jerusalem where Israel celebrates and celebrates what is called the unification of Jerusalem after the war in 1967. The Palestinians see these areas as occupied and see the march as a clear and distinct provocation.
