China News Service, June 16th. According to the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Uganda, two more overseas Chinese living in Uganda (Ganda) have recently passed away due to the new crown pneumonia, which was unsuccessful in Uganda’s local hospital. Since mid-June Three overseas Chinese living in Uzbekistan have unfortunately passed away from the epidemic, and several overseas Chinese in Uzbekistan have been transferred to severe illness and are receiving treatment.

The Chinese Embassy in Uganda expressed condolences to the deceased compatriots and condolences to the families of the deceased, and is currently actively assisting in handling the aftermath.

The embassy will continue to pay close attention to the condition of the seriously ill compatriots and go all out to provide assistance.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, from June 7 to 13, Uzbekistan added 55,000 new coronary pneumonia test samples, including 9,852 confirmed cases, 720 newly cured cases, 71 new deaths, and newly vaccinated people 55,121 people.

Up to now, Uzbekistan has tested 1,210,114 samples, a total of 64,521 confirmed cases, 48,480 cured cases, and 459 deaths have been reported, and a total of 803,797 people have been vaccinated.

In view of the above situation, especially considering that the recent Uganda epidemic situation has continued to deteriorate, and the number of Chinese citizens living in Uganda infected with the epidemic has also increased sharply, the Chinese Embassy in Uganda would like to remind the following:

  (1) Chinese citizens in Uzbekistan are requested to fully understand the severe and complex situation of the current epidemic prevention and control, resolutely abandon paralyzing thoughts, fluke mentality, and fatigue and lax mentality, continuously enhance their awareness of prevention and control, and continue to strictly abide by the epidemic prevention regulations, especially Uganda President Museveni The latest measures for epidemic prevention and control announced on June 6.

Strengthen personal protection, maintain good hygiene habits, do not organize or participate in gathering activities, avoid group meals, and maintain a safe distance at work and life to minimize the risk of infection.

  (2) All Chinese-funded enterprises in Uzbekistan are requested to pay attention to the prevention and control of the epidemic, always maintain a high degree of vigilance, resolutely overcome slackness, earnestly perform their main responsibilities, and further improve the epidemic prevention and control plan and emergency response plan for epidemic occurrence.

Continuously strengthen various daily epidemic prevention measures, coordinate epidemic prevention and control and production and operation activities, and strictly prevent cluster infections.

Closely track the epidemic situation and prevention and control policy changes in the project area, continue to investigate loopholes, and further prepare the necessary epidemic prevention and control equipment and living supplies reserves.

  (3) At present, some Chinese citizens have been vaccinated against the new crown pneumonia.

Vaccination can reduce the risk of infection to a certain extent, but the population's immune barrier has not been established, and the protective effect of any vaccine cannot reach 100%. A small number of people may still not produce protection or disease after vaccination.

Therefore, after vaccination, all kinds of epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic work must also be done, and personal protective measures such as wearing masks, washing hands frequently, opening windows for ventilation, and maintaining social distancing are still required.

  (4) If you have any suspected symptoms, you need to be tested or seek medical attention in time, and you must not be negligent.

Strict isolation measures should be taken immediately for confirmed patients and close contacts, and medical treatment should be arranged.

Chinese citizens who have been diagnosed with infection and their Chinese companies or institutions are obliged to report information to the Embassy in Uzbekistan. Our Embassy will continue to provide Chinese citizens in Uzbekistan with necessary anti-epidemic materials and help within its capacity.
