In his address, the political scientist noted that during periods of illegal street actions, a number of media outlets, including those recognized by foreign agents, traditionally broadcast live.

At the same time, the participants of these street events, who de facto violate the law, are given the opportunity, according to Orlov, to justify their actions in real time, to speak out in support of the ongoing action, which in itself can be considered propaganda of illegal actions.

Moreover, in his opinion, using live broadcasts, the organizers of these actions receive information about the movements of both participants and representatives of law enforcement agencies.

This allows them to quickly coordinate their further actions, which can create additional difficulties for law enforcement officers.

“In this regard, I ask you to evaluate the feasibility of introducing restrictions for the media on broadcasting live broadcasts from street actions that were deliberately organized in violation of the requirements of the current legislation,” reads the text of the appeal.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed to limit the work of foreign agents during election campaigns.
