As one of China's six major old industrial bases, Chongqing has a solid manufacturing base. In recent years, it has been working hard to upgrade to become a "intelligent town and smart city".
The research team visited Chongqing BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and China Resources Microelectronics (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. to understand Chongqing's semiconductor value chain supported by dual cores and screens.
In addition, the research team also visited China Zhigu (Chongqing) Science and Technology Park Exhibition Hall, Chongqing Midea Refrigeration Equipment Company, and Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park.

The automobile manufacturing industry is one of Chongqing's pillar industries.
As a leading enterprise in Chongqing's automobile industry, Changan Automobile has invested nearly 100 billion yuan in research and development in the past ten years. It has mastered more than 200 intelligent core technologies and more than 70 intelligent functions have been installed on mass-produced models.
In 2020, the total number of Chinese brand users of Changan has exceeded 19 million, leading the way for Chinese brand cars.
The research team focused on inspecting the Changan Ball R&D Center, and inquired in detail about the measures taken by Changan Automobile in the intelligent transformation and upgrading, as well as the development status and long-term planning of new energy vehicles.
In addition to on-site visits, the research team also held three special research seminars to communicate with relevant Chongqing municipal departments, representatives of relevant enterprises, and some experts and scholars to understand that Chongqing is promoting the optimization and upgrading of the industrial chain and supply chain, and innovation and development. We asked traditional manufacturing and high-tech enterprises about the difficulties and challenges encountered in industrial upgrading and transformation and integrating into the new development pattern of "double cycle", and listened to scholars’ thinking and suggestions.
The research team believes that in the process of building a "double-cycle" new development pattern, on the one hand, independent innovation capabilities should be improved and breakthroughs in key core technologies as soon as possible are the key to forming a new development pattern; on the other hand, long-term R&D investment should be maintained. Build a high-end scientific research platform, improve the incentive mechanism, strengthen the level of technological innovation, promote the development of high value-added, high-end industrial chain links, and promote the improvement of economic cycle efficiency.
The research team pointed out that talents are the key to upgrading the industrial chain and constructing a new development pattern of "dual cycles".
The talent training cycle is long and should be "walking on two legs". While cultivating local talents, various talent policies must be introduced to foster a talent ecology of "the nearer and the far away".
At the same time, by providing talents with sufficient dream-building space, a fair development environment and a good entrepreneurial environment, can we achieve "gathering talents from all over the world to use them" and achieve high-quality economic development.
