Insubordinate France (LFI) may have forged many alliances for the regional elections (June 20 and 27), it is difficult not to first hold back the repeated attacks by its leader, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in the direction of Europe. Ecology-The Greens (EELV).

"Liars", "hypocrites", "false chips" ... We can no longer count the names of birds and other kindnesses launched by the leader of the rebellious about environmentalists, who according to him "have a future as long as they are not them. not see at work ".

Why so much hatred?

To listen to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, LFI would be the victim, in this regional campaign, of a cabal orchestrated by Europe Écologie-Les Verts.

"In Paca and in Hauts-de-France, EELV excludes LFI from the agreements. But it is me that Jadot and Piolle accuse of brutalizing the debate," he accused on May 12 on Twitter.

The deputy of Bouches-du-Rhône referred to the exclusion, at the beginning of May, of the rebellious candidate in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur from the joint list EELV-PS-PCF-PRG carried by the ecologist Jean-Laurent Félizia, and disagreements over departmental elections in Hauts-de-France.

Since then, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his lieutenants have been shooting EELV with the same refrain: they are the sectarians.

In PACA, a handful of people make arrangements among themselves.

I was played all kinds of music on the unit, but the people to whom we reached out for the regional ones, like EELV, excluded the rebels without consulting anyone.

"In Paca, the comedy is over. 'We do not want a rebellious France' declared the national head of the EELV elections. The green oukaze convinced the PS and PC devices to come together to exclude us. [... ] France rebellious takes note of the sectarian pact concluded by the left of yesterday and the ecologists against it. It denounces their hypocrisy and double speech whose only objective is the political monopoly and the accumulation of the mandates ", one could read, the May 6, in a press release from LFI.

Regularly accused of closing the door to any union of the left, Jean-Luc Mélenchon intends to reverse the roles: his party has continued to reach out in all regions of France, he claims.

One way of no longer appearing, one year before the presidential election, as the eternal divisor on the left.

Weigh in the interval

At the 2019 Europeans, the Insoumis went into battle alone;

the following year, they preferred to support citizen lists during municipal elections.

But this time they made alliances.

Besides Hauts-de-France, the only region where the whole of the left has managed to line up behind Karima Delli, LFI has allied with the PCF to support communist candidates in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Normandy;

with the Communists still behind the candidacy of Clémentine Autain in Ile-de-France;

with Génération.s to nominate former minister Aurélie Filippetti in the Grand Est region;

and even with EELV to support a head of the ecological list in Center-Val-de-Loire and the former "walker" Matthieu Orphelin in the Pays de la Loire.

"We tried to be useful. When we found coalitions which defended interesting things, we encouraged the gathering," argues the rebellious deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis, Eric Coquerel, in Le Monde.

This strategy of talking to everyone also allows Insubordinate France to appear as a must for future gatherings of leftist lists in the second round. Despite the invectives, it is indeed a safe bet that LFI and EELV will meet again before June 27, in particular in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Ile-de-France. "Place me in the lead on the left on June 20, you can count on my sense of rallying," said the rebellious candidate in the Paris region, Clémentine Autain, on Monday June 14 on LCI.

Place me in the lead on the left on June 20, you can count on my sense of unity.

In this moment of storm, my candidacy is the most solid, the most coherent.

It is she who will create the popular dynamic to win on June 27.

These various alliances should also allow LFI to avoid a slap in the face as was the case during the Europeans (6.31%), while gaining several elected officials in regional and departmental councils.

One way to strengthen the party inexpensively.

These elections are finally the opportunity for the future succession to toughen up.

In Brittany, the rebellious head of the list Pierre-Yves Cadalen is leading, at the age of 28, his third campaign after those of the 2017 legislative and 2020 municipal elections. And, above all, in New Aquitaine, she is the coordinator of the presidential program of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Clémence Guetté, who, at the age of 30, has her first experience as a candidate.
