Analysts say that the US and the EU have begun to restore relations as the two sides agreed to suspend the application of retaliatory tariffs imposed on each other for five years.



At the same time, they agreed to jointly respond to China and Russia issues and cooperate on technological issues such as vaccines and semiconductors.



In a joint statement, they expressed concern about human rights violations in Xinjiang and Tibet Autonomous Region, Hong Kong's pro-democracy issues and Taiwan issues, and announced that they would cooperate in all areas related to China.

Biden later traveled to Switzerland for a meeting with Russian President Putin.
