A Somali police officer who did not want to be named told reporters that a suicide attacker detonated a bomb in this barracks that day, killing at least 15 soldiers, most of whom were government recruits.
The death toll may still rise.
Witnesses told reporters that the injured had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
