This is how the pigs' fight against the park slide went in Härryda municipality

Parkslide is difficult to control and can, among other things, compete with other plants in places where it establishes itself.

In Härryda, the municipality receives messages and calls from several people every week regarding the plant.

- I get about ten messages a week.

So yes, there is a lot of park slide in Härryda municipality, says project manager Teresia Engbom who also believes that media reporting on the plant has contributed to more people being aware of it.

Pigs had to pull in

The municipality has tested several different methods to get rid of the plant but decided in the summer of 2020 to try to let two pigs do the job.

The hope was that the park slide would appeal to them and that they would eat it.

It has now been almost a year since then.
