The inhabitants of Bouches-du-Rhône are invited to review their mode of transport.

"Due to an episode of persistent ozone pollution" in the department, which has been recording very hot weather for several days, the prefecture has just announced the triggering of the level 2 alert procedure from Tuesday.

This new threshold is triggered after the activation by the prefecture of an “information-recommendation procedure followed by a level 1 alert procedure”.

The 20 km / h lowering of the traffic speed on all the roads of the department applicable since the passage to level 1 remains in force.

"In this episode of pollution, the preferred mode of transport remains public transport or carpooling," insists the prefecture.

It also invites the population to reduce their intense physical or sports activities.
