About forty firefighters had to intervene urgently, Monday evening around 10 p.m., in a district of Cluses (Haute-Savoie).

As revealed by

Le Dauphiné Libéré

, an entire ten-story building was indeed evacuated, due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to firefighters, the installation of a generator in an apartment on the first floor of the building is the cause of this serious incident.

The emergency services focused their emergency care on two people, a man and a woman in their forties, both in cardio-respiratory arrest.

The man died and the second victim was transported in a state of absolute emergency to the Geneva hospital.

Tests were carried out on all the other inhabitants in the nearby bar requisitioned for the occasion, in order to know the level of inhaled carbon monoxide in order to better adapt their care.

The inhabitants were finally able to return to their homes during the night.
