On Tuesday, the Versailles Criminal Court found guilty the French subsidiary of Ikea and one of its former CEOs of spying several hundred employees from 2009 to 2012. They were sentenced to less severe penalties than those required: one million euros fine and suspended sentence. 

The French subsidiary of Ikea and one of its former CEOs were respectively sentenced on Tuesday to a fine of one million euros and a suspended prison sentence for spying on several hundred employees between 2009 and 2012.

The Versailles Criminal Court found them guilty of "concealing personal data by fraudulent means", but sentenced them to less severe penalties than those requested by the prosecutor, who accused them of "mass surveillance".
