In the PSOE they consider Susana Díaz's political time ended. The defeat in the Andalusian primaries to be a candidate for the Junta against Juan Espadas "opens a new time" to offer the Andalusians "a winning and exciting project". The still today leader of the Andalusian PSOE will not stand for reelection in the regional congress at the end of the year, but will remain in office until then. In Ferraz, although they wanted her to leave immediately, they will not force her. Of course, they warn that the militants have given Espadas the "legitimate leadership" of the party in Andalusia.

The "deferred resignation" of Díaz, who will cease to be regional secretary general at the end of the year, did not leave much room for action for the leadership of the PSOE. The victory of Espadas, Ferraz's preferred candidate, causes a kind of bicephaly between the candidate for the Junta and the general secretary that was not convincing. An immediate resignation of Díaz was preferred, even more so after the overwhelming defeat. It will not be like that and the national leadership prefers not to tighten the rope any more, since an immediate electoral advance is not perceived in Andalusia.

They do not want tensions, but they do warn the Andalusian leader that she must make herself available to Espadas. "After the primaries, it has become clear what the voice of the militancy is," said José Luis Ábalos, secretary of Organization of the PSOE, after the meeting of the permanent commission of the Executive. "We do not have a problem of internal order that we have to tackle, because the militancy has expressed itself emphatically."

In Ferraz they breathed a sigh of relief when it was quickly seen that the count offered a clear victory for Espadas.

A victory for Díaz would have deepened Sánchez's moment of political weakness, which now, however, comes out strengthened and with free hands to shape the PSOE to suit him.

Hence, they hope that the forcefulness of the numbers will lead Díaz to an orderly transition with Espadas and to gradually step aside.

Espadas wants to change the parliamentary group to modify the opposition strategy and lead it himself.
