As noted in the text, Russian-German relations are of great importance both in ensuring the security of the EU member states and in maintaining stability in Europe as a whole.

For example, topics such as arms control, disarmament, the climate agenda can only be discussed with the participation of Russia, the document says.

At the same time, the German parliamentarians believe, the relations between Moscow and Berlin, first of all, "are of fundamental importance for the interests in the field of security and economic interests of the FRG."

"But the diplomatic ping-pong that has continued so far from sanctions and retaliatory sanctions, accusations and counter-accusations within the European Union, the broad participation of German foreign policy in it continues to lead to a dead end," the draft resolution states.

Taking into account the current situation, Moscow is forced to strengthen cooperation with Beijing, including in the economic, military and space fields, German MPs write.

They also recall the statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that "Russia's relations with the EU have been destroyed."

Such words, according to the representatives of the Bundestag, should be regarded as "another clear signal from Moscow about the seriousness of the situation."

In this regard, the members of the faction believe that Germany should actively strengthen the dialogue with Russia.

In particular, the AfD proposes to "immediately create an interdepartmental working group" to develop a sustainable strategy for cooperation with Russia, "persistently seek" the resumption of the work of the Russia-NATO Council, no longer agree in the European Council with proposals to extend sanctions against Russia and abandon the idea of shutting down Moscow from the international payment system SWIFT.

Earlier it was reported that the Bundestag, during the vote, rejected the Green Party's draft on revising its policy towards Russia and refusing to build Nord Stream 2.

In May, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas announced the readiness of the European Union for dialogue with Russia.
