1. Denzel Dumfries became the match winner on Sunday. What kind of impression did he make on you?

"He was one of the better players and that is partly due to his fantastic drive. I also think it would be great to play in his place, because you always have defenders in your back and can constantly think of attacks. He did that well, but he has to calm down a bit in front of goal. Actually, the backs have to connect with the striker training, maybe that's a nice task for Ruud van Nistelrooij. "

2. On the other side of the defence, Patrick van Aanholt was quite unexpected in the starting line-up. Did you expect that?

"No, I don't think anyone saw that coming. Doubt has arisen at Frank de Boer and then you look at the training sessions. At a certain point you play eleven against eleven and if one person fills in that much better, then come "You don't change an established player based on training sessions, but with Owen Wijndal and Van Aanholt the difference is smaller."

3. Who else did you think played well?

"I actually thought that nobody had a bad day. Frenkie de Jong and Georginio Wijnaldum were great and Marten de Roon's game had also improved considerably. I also liked to see that the central defenders, especially Daley Blind and Jurriƫn Timber, thought about attacking every now and then and went forward."

4. Has Frank de Boer been right with his system or will this discussion come back again?

"No, especially thanks to the victory, that discussion is now over. The most important thing is that people in the Netherlands and the rest of the world have enjoyed the game of the Netherlands. That should do people good and then it turns out that it is not at all It doesn't matter what system you play in."

5. What does the victory over Ukraine mean for the further course of the tournament?

"It gives a huge boost to confidence and you can now work on the improvements with much more peace of mind. They are certainly still there, because it is often a little too open in the back. De Boer can work on that in the next two games , so that they get through the group well and can face the big opponents with confidence."
