It was restless on the Jonckbloetplein in The Hague on Sunday evening after the victory of the Dutch national team against Ukraine during the European Championship.
Groups of revelers set fire to the street, set off fireworks and pelted officers with stones, a police spokesman confirmed.
According to him, there were dozens of people on their feet and the riot police had to be deployed for a short time.
According to the police spokesperson, calm returned to the street around 1 a.m.
The fire brigade was deployed to extinguish the bicycles that had been set on fire.
It is not yet known whether anyone has been injured or whether any arrests have been made.
"We expect to have more clarity in the course of the morning," said the police.
