Strains and vaccinations

Director of the Center.

Gamalei Alexander Gunzburg said that the circulation of many of its own strains of coronavirus has been detected in Russia.

He added that the country has a strain monitoring system created by the government.

“The data show that, indeed, there are a lot of modified versions of our own, not British, not Indian,” - TASS quotes Gintsburg.

Scientists are studying the properties of these viruses, he said.

Along with this, the head of the center.

Gamalei warned of the dangers of the slow pace of COVID-19 vaccination.

The scientist believes that delay can lead to the activation of the formation of altered strains of coronavirus.

“You need to get vaccinated quickly, and it is better for all citizens who are in constant contact with each other.

If some are vaccinated, and some are not, this can lead to an intensification of the process of forming strains with altered properties, ”he explained.

At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor reminded that all vaccines registered in Russia are effective and safe.
