The Italian La Gazzetta dello Sport tells Christian Eriksen that he has commented on his situation through his manager to the magazine.
- Thanks, I'm not giving up.
My well-being is better now - but I want to understand what has happened, Eriksen said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, mediated by his manager.
The Italian magazine quotes, among others, the Danish Extrabladet.
"I want to thank you for everything that has been done for me," Eriksen added, according to the Italian newspaper.
The European Championship match between Finland and Denmark turned into a tragic play in an instant on Saturday night, when the Danish star Eriksen was shortened to the surface of the field in Copenhagen at the end of the first half.
The medical staff resuscitated Eriksen and cared for the Danish player on the field for about ten minutes before being transported on a stretcher off the field and to a nearby hospital.
Later on Saturday, Eriksen’s condition was reported to be stable, and he was confirmed to have spoken over the phone to his teammates.
At a press conference of the Danish Football Association on Sunday, it was reported that Eriksen had had a cardiac arrest.
